About - La Tropica’Dingue
Combining features of trail running and multisport racing, the Tropica’Dingue at Mon Trésor is THE wackiest and most fun-packed of all sporting challenges to have hit the shores of Mauritius. This unique event brings together solo and team competitors who participate in an off-road race of almost 10 km, with twenty-two original obstacles interspersed all along. On the menu: mud, water, underground passages, net-climbing, tyre obstacle courses, and so much more…
After a succesfull first edition in 2016 that drew over 1,200 participants, Tropica’Dingue returns to Mauritius in 2017 ! The sun, palm trees and a massive lagoon stretching out endlessly will give an exotic cachet to this race where fancy is the by-word.
All united by one shared goal!
Have fun, clear obstacles and cross the finish line with your teammates. Let yourself be engrossed in an atmosphere of merriment while surpassing yourself over exceptional challenges. For this event, fun, folly and mutual cooperation matter more than finishing time!

THE RACE WEBSITE
The second Mauritian edition of Tropica’Dingue will reveal its tropi’Dingo secrets amid a natural landscape in the southeast of the island. Just a few miles off Curepipe and close to the old Mon Trésor sugar factory – A historic industrial area after which an integrated and sustainable urban development project in this region has been named. A former British air base used during the Second World War, the Chaland site is situated alongside the picturesque village of Le Bouchon, which borders Le Chaland beach against a hinterland backdrop of sugarcane fields. Participants will have the opportunity to discover the charms of the Christiane Vallet forest and the century-old trees near Mare aux Songes – where remains of the dodo have been found.
THE SPIRIT OF THE RACE
Participating in a trail normally implies being serious, focused, properly fitted out, and constantly thinking about one’s time and performance! But on the Tropica’Dingue, forget about proper outfits, as all you need to do is come disguised with your teammates, be ready to crawl in the mud and climb a net or slide down a giant slide! The relatively short track (9 km) is open to one and all! Forget also about chronometric performance. Enthusiasm and folly are your sole preoccupations. Finally, if you love to dance, the Tropica’Dingue is the right event for you, as prior to starting the race, you’ll warm up to the sound of the jubilant and frenzied tunes served up from the DJ tower at the heart of the Race Village. So, are you in for something new?
